This is the end of my Summer Wrap Up Posts – the third in the trilogy.

While I am always so sad to see the summer come to an end, now that we’ve been at this whole school thing for 3 weeks now, the initial somber shock has started to dissipate & we are settling into our new hectic schedule. Don’t get me wrong, there are still some kinks to work out, but it’s not so horrible at the moment.

On the last weekend before school started, I asked the kids what was one thing they wanted to do this summer that they didn’t get to do…

Zoie: Swim in my Pool!
(obviously, we swam in the pool – a lot! This girl just wants to swim every day – all day…)

Riley: Play more video games.
(Really?!? Boys!)

Roxy: Go on a Paddle Boat.
(Finally! Something I can work with!)

Paddle Boating in Florida (at least ’round these parts) is (1) not as common a recreational activity as it is up north, and (2) it’s hella way more expensive. 2 boats, one family, one hour = $54.95 + tax (ouch!).

But, I looked around & found a place for us to throw our hard earned money at & give these kids of mine one last thing to make their Summer Vacation a complete success.

The threat of thunderstorms this particular day was very high & it seemed it might blow in any moment. But we were lucky and it only started ‘sparkling’ just as our hour in the paddle boats was over. Which was pretty welcome, we were kind of sweaty!

I was lucky enough to be captain of the two-seater with that handsome little guy with the huge blue eyes. Daddy, Cam, Roxy and Zoie were on the other boat. We explored the little lake, looked for gators & raced a little. It was a pretty grand time!

These pictures are the first Christopher got to play around with his new camera (the playground pics are from his fancy schmancy camera – except for the cutesy turtle Riley is standing on).

Paddle-Boating + hanging upside down at a really cool-new-to-us playground = a great way to end the summer for the Deneweths.

Now on to Kindergarten, 2nd Grade & keeping my 3 year old happy kinds of adventures. Yo Ho!

So long, Summer of 2013. It was a good one. xo
